One Hundred World Championship Series 2025

O One Hundred World Championship Series arranca em janeiro e a primeira prova vai decorrer em Portugal. Conheça esta competição que coloca o nosso país e os prémios Tributus no mapa do trail running mundial.

Portugal will host the prestigious international One Hundred World Championship Series. From January 16 to 19, 2025, the world’s top ultra-trail athletes will arrive in our country—specifically in Serra da Estrela—to compete for a title that represents the pinnacle of mental and physical endurance.

The One Hundred World Championship Series

This is one of the world’s stage-based trail endurance competitions, with stages taking place in different parts of the world and in stunning natural settings. In the case of the One Hundred World Championship Series, there are four stages that will challenge athletes to cover extreme distances on the most demanding trails:
• Stage 1, “Terra dos Gigantes,” in Portugal;
• Stage 2: the G.O.A.T. Ultra Trail Race, in the United Arab Emirates;
• Stage 3: ‘Costa Rica 200’, in Costa Rica;
• Stage 4: ‘Mons Ultra Trail’, in Brazil.

The stage in the Land of the Giants, in Portugal

The Portuguese leg coincides with the “Terra dos Gigantes” ultramarathon, a race that will start at Torre da Serra da Estrela, the highest point in mainland Portugal, and finish in Nazaré, on the Atlantic coast.
The challenge is to cross the country from east to west in a maximum of 74 hours while being self-sufficient, during a time of year with harsh weather conditions and over a course of approximately 303 km with a cumulative elevation gain of about 10,815 meters.
At the end of the race, trophies produced by Tributus will be awarded according to the athletes’ rankings.
