On July 19 and 20, mountain bike lovers will pedal through the scenery of the municipality of Santo and test their endurance and determination on a circuit that promises to raise the bar for the sport - it's the ACDL BTT Gravel Challenge, in Lamelas.

What is the ACDL BTT Challenge?

The ACDL BTT Challenge is a mountain biking event organized by the Lamelas Cultural and Sports Association (ACDL) as a response to the growing interest in ultra-distance mountain biking (off-road cycling). Despite being an out-of-competition BTT/Gravel race, the event has gained prominence on the circuits of the most demanding cyclists. The ACDL BTT is open to Portuguese cyclists and cyclists of other nationalities and does not require any status, affiliation or sports license from the Portuguese Cycling Federation or similar.

The 2025 edition: races and routes

This year, the organization has prepared three routes to allow cyclists of different levels to take part:
- 100 km, with a positive gradient of 2000 m, ideal for those in good physical shape;
- 200 km, with a positive gradient of 3000 m, a challenge for more experienced cyclists;
- 400 km, with a positive gradient of 6500 m, the true ultra endurance, requiring more stamina and determination.
The routes start and finish at Rua da Escola 136, in Lamelas, and will take participants on technical trails, country lanes and single tracks.

More than just a mountain bike marathon, the ACDL BTT Gravel Challenge is an integrated community experience created to enhance tradition, resilience on two wheels and sportsmanship. And in this second edition, the medals that will be handed out to the participants have been made by Tributus.
