Sports continue to liven up the summer days with activities that appeal to people of all ages and fitness levels. From races and hikes to challenges set in natural landscapes, there are events for everyone, from families to the most demanding athletes. And we’d like to highlight two in particular: the Auchan Live Race and the Bairrada Ecochallenge.

The Auchan 2025 Race

The Auchan Live Race is back for another edition of an event that brings together a variety of sports for the whole family. This year, the 12th edition will take place on September 6 at the Jamor National Sports Center in Oeiras, offering both sporting events and side activities:
• the 10K run, the 5K walk, and the Rik&Rok kids’ race;
• street basketball;
• sports for the public to try: golf and mini-golf, tennis, CrossFit, gymnastics, rugby, non-motorized go-karts, cycling, karate, fencing, canoeing, and traditional games;
• a Pet-Friendly area with activities for animals;
• collection of plastic packaging and other sustainability initiatives.
The event program also includes an awards ceremony for participants—featuring custom trophies produced by Tributus.
Organized for the past 12 years by Auchan Retail Portugal, the Auchan Live Race is, above all, a sporting event that brings families together around sports, sustainability, and solidarity.

Bairrada Ecochallenge 2025

This is an obstacle course race covering approximately 13 km of mixed terrain, with a route that winds through vineyard trails and farmland in the Oliveira do Bairro area and crosses the Cértima River. This year, it will take place on September 6 and, in addition to the main race, will include the BEC Kids race, for children ages 6 to 13, and the Eco Walk, open to everyone and featuring an accessible route. At the end of the races, there will be the customary awards ceremony, featuring medals and trophies produced by Tributus. Alongside the sporting activities, participants can enjoy a social area with entertainment, music, and a DJ set.
Organized by the Eco Desafios Association with the support of the city council and local partners, the Bairrada Eco Challenge Run and Walk aims to foster sportsmanship and a sense of community, as well as promote leisure and well-being, while also contributing to measures that reduce environmental impact.
