The Sanabria Lake Natural Park, in the Zamora region, is the setting for Ultra Sanabria by Stages, which took place this year from October 6 to 8. With a program that included children and young people, the event unfolded over three days during which athletes of various nationalities enjoyed nature while competing and the younger ones had fun. Ultra Sanabria by Stages

This is a mountain sports event held in the Spanish province of Zamora, more precisely in the Sanabria Lake Natural Park and surrounding areas. Ultra Sanabria by Stages (ULSA) has two components: one competitive, aimed at athletes, and the other aimed at the community.
The competitions in this event are the Ultra, Gran Trail, trail marathon, Zamora Provincial Council Grand Prix, Caja Rural Grand Prix, and Scarpa Grand Prix.
The Ultra, Gran Trail, and Trail Marathon races all have three stages, differing only in the distance to be covered by the athletes:
• The Ultra race is 110 kilometers;
• The Gran Trail is about 62 kilometers;
• The Marathon is about 42 kilometers.
The remaining competitions are single-stage races, each with different distances:
• The Diputación de Zamora Grand Prix is approximately 33 kilometers;
• The Caja Rural Grand Prix is approximately 20 kilometers;
• The Scarpa Grand Prix is approximately 16 kilometers.

In parallel with the competitions, there was a program of activities aimed at children aged 4 to 12, designed to bring them closer to outdoor sports and nature, combining respect for the environment, fun, and camaraderie. The activities took place at the Villa Lucerna Multi-Adventure Park in Vigo de Sanabria and included tree climbing, outdoor games, and craft workshops, among others.

Ultra Sanabria by Stages is one of the major trail running events in the Iberian Peninsula, giving athletes the opportunity to earn ranking points for the prestigious Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB).
