MEDALS AND TROPHIES FOR CHILDREN

One of Tributus's priorities is to create medals and trophies tailored to those who will receive these awards—including children.

One of the first questions to ask when beginning to design an award—whether a medal or a trophy—is who it is intended for: experienced and/or federation-affiliated athletes, or participants in a particular sport? Employees of a company? Someone who has distinguished themselves in their field or performed an act of courage (e.g., doctors, writers, actors, firefighters, etc.)? And are they adults, and if so, in which age groups? Or are they children?

Medals and trophies designed for children

When it comes to rewarding or recognizing the achievements, merit, and talent of children, it is important to design items that are appropriate for their age and taste: consider weight and thickness, use appropriate colors and pictograms, and ensure ease of handling and use, among other characteristics.
In the case of sporting events that include competitions for children and youth, all medals and trophies must be standardized, and there can be no items with different images. Therefore, the solution is to adapt the medals and/or trophies to the children’s ages. How?
At Tributus, our goal is for children to feel included, valued, and motivated. And we know they like to feel “grown-up” and “responsible” when they participate in the same events as adults (albeit in different age groups or categories). That’s why we adapt the medals and/or trophies in terms of size, thickness, and weight—including the medal ribbon.

Medals and trophies tailored to each achievement, level, and age group

Each medal, trophy, or award should be designed with the achievement or goal in mind, as well as the person being honored or recognized. And why?
Because the materials and techniques used in creating these pieces are chosen based on the message they are intended to convey. Thus, if it is a corporate event honoring a decades-long professional career marked by outstanding performance, the award should convey elegance, class, and solidity. If it is to recognize a sports achievement, the award should convey victory, energy, and positivity. And if it is an outdoor sport, we prefer “raw” materials such as cork and wood.

A commitment to sustainability and the planet

At Tributus, our first and foremost priority is to contribute to the sustainability of the economy and the planet. It’s part of our DNA and our mission. This is demonstrated by the set of sustainable practices we’ve implemented and apply on a daily basis, including:
• We choose materials from sustainable sources:
This means we use scraps from other industries (we have the advantage of being in Paços de Ferreira, the furniture capital) and that we select industries, suppliers, and partners from the region, reducing transportation costs and greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the local and regional economy, and contributing to the progress of the community in which we operate;
• We use production techniques with low and/or zero environmental impact, such as laser printing and engraving;
• We adopt methods and processes that enable a sustainable supply chain;
• We establish synergies with local organizations and companies, and support social cause projects.

As the saying goes—and rightly so—children are our future. At Tributus, we haven’t forgotten them—on the contrary, as parents and educators of children and young people on our team, we fully understand that the bar is set even higher when it comes to creating items designed for them.
Take, for example, the medals, trophies, or awards we design and produce for school or sports events that include kids’ competitions.
If you’re planning one of these events, don’t hesitate to share your project with us— get in touch with us; we’d be delighted to make children happy.
