The OCR Portugal League kicked off with the Urban Fit race on March 1, 2025, in Montalegre. This marked the start of the annual competition calendar organized by the Portuguese Obstacle Course Racing Federation (FPOCR), which brings together the sport’s top athletes for demanding, adrenaline-fueled challenges.

What is OCR?

OCR stands for “Obstacle Course Racing,” a sport involving running or walking in which the goal is to overcome various obstacles along the course that test participants’ physical and mental abilities. These obstacles vary widely, including crawling, dragging and carrying loads, scaling walls, climbing ropes and walls, crossing waterways, archery challenges, paintball, and many others that test balance and suspension, skill and concentration, dexterity, strength, and speed, etc.
OCR is a very demanding and grueling sport that can be practiced by people of all genders and ages, with different levels and categories featuring adapted difficulty levels.

The Portuguese OCR League and the 2025 events

The OCR Portugal League is one of the competitions organized by the Portuguese Obstacle Course Racing Federation (FPOCR) organizes, the others being the Portuguese Cup, the National Championship, the OCREC Qualifier, and the qualifying events for the European Championship.
