EPICX Azores 2025 and the 7th Elvas World Heritage Trail
In December, the Azores will host a special edition of the EPICX Azores by Decathlon, while Elvas will host the 7th Elvas World Heritage Trail. Learn more about these events with Tributus prizes.The epic competition that draws athletes from around the world year after year to test their limits returns to the Azores archipelago—it’s the 10th EPICX Azores by Decathlon. And then, it’s time for the Trail Elvas World Heritage to return to the Alentejo region for its 7th edition.
The EPICX Azores by Decathlon 2025
This is the 10th edition of one of the major international trail running competitions held in Portugal, specifically on the island of São Miguel in the Azores—the EPICX AZORES by Decathlon. This year, the event celebrates its tenth anniversary, and the organizers promise it will be special—with a series of races designed for the occasion:
• the EPICX 100 Miles, or the “Supreme Challenge,” a one-time race commemorating this 10th edition;
• the EPICX 100 km, or the “Green Hell”;
• the EPICX 60 km, or the “Lagoon Route”;
• the EPICX 30 km, or the “Water Route”;
• the EPICX 15 km, or “Trail Lovers”;
• the EPICX Day Walk, or “Enjoying Nature”;
• the EPICX Night Walk, or “Enjoying Nature”;
• and the EPICX Kids, or “Testing Your Limits in Nature”.
Taking place on December 5 and 6, the event will take athletes on a journey to discover the trails through the volcanic and lush landscapes of the island’s slopes, crossing several parishes in the municipalities of Lagoa, Nordeste, Povoação, Ribeira Grande, and Vila Franca do Campo. EPICX Azores by Decathlon has been organized for the past 10 years by the Azorean Triathlon, Trail, and Tourism Club (CATTT), with technical guidance from the Morcegos Trail Club, and is a competition certified by the UTMB World Seriesand ITRA , and the ATRP.
Similar to previous editions, Tributus was once again tasked with producing the medals for this epic event.The 7th Elvas World Heritage Trail
This is the 7th edition of the trail running event that combines a physical challenge with the discovery of the historical and cultural heritage of a city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, through routes that explore iconic landmarks in Elvas, such as the castle, Forte da Graça, and the Amoreira Aqueduct. Taking place on December 7, 2025, this year’s program features three races: the 20 km trail, which counts toward the AADP District Short Trail Circuit; the 12 km mini trail, which counts toward the District Youth Trail Circuit; and the 12 km walk open to the whole family.
The Elvas World Heritage Trail has been organized by the Ialbax Sports Association, with support from the Elvas City Council and the Elvas Military Museum, and this year features trophies produced by Tributus—they are trophies made from recycled acrylic from our range of sustainable materials.These are two of the internationally renowned sporting events for which Tributus produces medals, trophies, and other types of awards.
