6th GOJU-RYU KARATE LEAGUE CUP

The Goju-Ryu Karate League Cup will be held on March 16, 2024, in Cascais, and practitioners from across the country are expected to attend.

The sixth edition of the Goju-Ryu Karate League Cup will bring karateka from across the country to Cascais—specifically to Alcabideche—to compete for the title. The prizes for this 2024 edition were produced by Tributus, which gave us the opportunity to learn more about this style of karate.

What is Goju-ryu karate-do?

Goju-ryu karate-do is a variant or style (ryu) of karate developed by the Japanese master Chojun Miyagi that combines hard (go) and firm strikes with smooth (ju) and circular movements. The main characteristic of this style is the harmony between rigidity and flexibility, between strength and gentleness, between speed and smoothness.

About the Goju-Ryu Karate League Cup

This is a national competition organized by the Portuguese Goju-Ryu Karate-do League, in which clubs, schools, and gyms, as well as individual karateka, compete for the title of champion at both the team and individual levels, earning qualifications to participate in other international competitions. Goju-Ryu karate has been present in Portugal for several decades, with a growing interest in the sport in recent years and, consequently, an increase in the number of practitioners and training centers/academies.

The organizers of the Goju-Ryu Karate League Cup have chosen Tributus to produce the awards for this year’s event. If you also organize sporting events (or events of another nature) and want to present awards that highlight the occasion and your brand, don’t hesitate to contact us.
