The fourth edition of the Winter Bay Backyard Ultra event will take place in the Nordic lands of Scandinavia. From May 3 to 5, 2025, the Swedish capital of Stockholm will welcome hundreds of athletes who will participate in this extreme trail running event.

The Winter Bay Backyard Ultra

This is a trail running event characterized by the "backyard ultra" concept, which in 2025 will take place in Stockholm, more precisely in the Trekantsparken park area, a small natural treasure in the heart of the Swedish capital. Held since 2022, the Winter Bay Backyard Ultra has attracted elite runners and trail running enthusiasts from various countries, who find here not only a test of their physical and mental endurance, but also a unique atmosphere of conviviality and camaraderie.

What is Backyard Ultra?

The Backyard Ultra is an ultramarathon that must be run in consecutive laps of 6,706 kilometers, with each lap must be completed in less than an hour and the remaining minutes used for the athlete to recover before starting a new lap. If the athlete fails to finish the lap in that time, they are eliminated. The goal is to run as many laps as possible without being eliminated, and the race ends when there is only one athlete left – "last one standing."

The 2025 edition features Tributus awards
