2nd Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy and Sabrosa Trail 2025
These are two distinct events that celebrate sport and well-being – the 2nd Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy and the Sabrosa Trail – Through the Lands of Magalhães.Between riverbanks and mountain trails, two sporting initiatives are preparing to mark the month of November with energy and collective spirit. One of them is the Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy, which offers an accessible route open to all ages, while the Sabrosa Trail – Por Terras de Magalhães challenges athletes to explore the heart of the Douro, on trails that combine landscape and endurance. In common, the events promote socializing, well-being, and appreciation of the territory, and will offer medals and trophies produced by Tributus.
The 2nd Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy
On November 15, 2025, Vila da Moita, in the district of Setúbal, will host the 2nd edition of the Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy. This is a road race event open to federated and non-federated athletes, practitioners of the sport, and the general public, with a course that allows for an accessible experience for all. Thus, there will be distances adapted to the level, category, and mobility of each participant. Organized by the Moita Tejo Athletics School, with the support of the Moita City Council and the Moita Parish Council, the Vila da Moita Race Walking Trophy is part of the AtletisMoita Tournament and the regional race walking calendar of the Setúbal Athletics Association.
The 4th Sabrosa Trail – Through the Lands of Magellan
On November 16, 2025, it will be the turn of the village of Sabrosa, in the district of Vila Real, to host the 4th edition of the Sabrosa Trail – Por Terras de Magalhães, a trail running event whose route takes in the trails, rural paths, and roads of the municipality and which features four races:
• the ST36K, a long competitive trail, 36.1 km long with 1,500 m of elevation gain;
• the ST19K, a short competitive trail run, covering 19.1 km with an elevation gain of 830 m;
• the ST10K, a mini competitive trail run, covering 9.5 km with an elevation gain of 545 m;
• and the 9.5 km non-competitive walk.
The Sabrosa Trail – Por Terras de Magalhães is a sporting event that has been organized for the past four years by the Sabrosa City Council in partnership with Portugal INTN and certified by ATRP – Associação de Trail Running de Portugal (Portuguese Trail Running Association).3- Because it associates the brand with excellence and exclusivity
